Story Summary
The episode begins with Springfield's Little League baseball team reaching the championship game after Bart helps his team qualify for the finals. Everyone expects Bart to become the hero once again.
During the championship game, Springfield is only one out away from victory. A routine fly ball is hit toward Bart, but he accidentally drops it. As he struggles to pick up the ball, the opposing team scores enough runs to win the championship.
Instead of supporting Bart after his mistake, the people of Springfield cruelly blame him for the loss. The entire town begins mocking and humiliating him. Bart quickly becomes an outcast, and wherever he goes, people remind him of the game he lost.
