Story Summary
The episode begins when Homer accidentally ruins Marge's birthday celebration by allowing Bart to create chaos in the house. As punishment, Homer locks Bart inside a rabbit cage, humiliating him in front of everyone.
Angry at his father, Bart decides to get revenge by spray-painting giant graffiti portraits of Homer all over Springfield. Each artwork labels Homer with the word "Dope," quickly turning the graffiti into a local sensation.
One night, famous street artists Shepard Fairey, Ron English, Kenny Scharf, and Robbie Conal discover Bart creating new artwork. Impressed by his talent, they invite him to display his graffiti in a professional art gallery, making Bart believe he has become a respected artist.
Meanwhile, Apu faces a different challenge when a trendy organic supermarket called Swapper Jack's opens nearby. Customers begin leaving the Kwik-E-Mart in favour of the new store, causing Apu's business to suffer. Desperate to save his shop, Apu tries everything he can, but nothing seems to work.
As Bart prepares for his big gallery exhibition, Homer finally realizes that he is the subject of Bart's insulting artwork. Although Bart apologizes, the exhibition takes an unexpected turn when Chief Wiggum and the Springfield Police suddenly arrive and arrest Bart for vandalizing the city.
The biggest surprise comes when it is revealed that Shepard Fairey has secretly been working undercover with the police. The entire art exhibition was part of a plan to identify and catch the mysterious graffiti artist responsible for covering Springfield with spray paint. Since Bart is still a child, he receives a lighter punishment instead of going to jail.
At the same time, Swapper Jack's is forced to close after authorities discover that it has been selling imported monkey meat as chicken. With its biggest competitor gone, the Kwik-E-Mart survives, and Apu's business returns to normal.
