Story Summary
The episode opens inside a theater where Conan O'Brien announces what appears to be The Simpsons' final episode. He explains that an advanced AI called HackGPT has been trained using every previous Simpsons episode and countless television finales to create the perfect ending for the series.
Inside the AI-generated story, Bart is excited because he is finally celebrating his 11th birthday. However, Homer accidentally forgets to hand out the birthday invitations, leaving Bart with only a few hours to invite everyone in Springfield.
As Bart rushes around town, strange things begin happening. Principal Skinner announces his retirement, familiar locations start closing down, and several long-running storylines suddenly come to an end. Mr. Burns appears to die before revealing it was another one of his cruel jokes, while other characters begin saying goodbye to places they have known for years.
Bart slowly realizes that Springfield itself seems to be ending. Every event feels like the closing chapter of a television series, making him question what is happening to his world. Throughout the story, the AI repeatedly inserts dramatic television clichés and emotional farewell moments, creating a humorous parody of famous TV finales.
Meanwhile, Conan frequently interrupts the episode from the theater, arguing with HackGPT about its creative decisions. The AI insists it knows exactly how every successful television series should end, while Conan points out how ridiculous many of the scenes have become.
Eventually, Bart's birthday party arrives. Despite all the dramatic events, he discovers that everything returns to normal. Bart is still 10 years old, Springfield remains unchanged, and life continues exactly as fans expect.
The episode finally reveals that the entire "series finale" was simply an AI-generated scenario. Rather than ending the show, the story celebrates the fact that The Simpsons continues to entertain audiences after more than three decades.
